   About Us:  Corporate Profile

Think-Links Press

(MC2 Education Consultants, Inc.)
Maggie Martin Connell

Here at Think-Links Press, everything we do centers around helping students, teachers and parents make absolute sense of the math they encounter.  Fundamental to all of our work are
these core beliefs about how any one
of us learns best:

1. Safety first!  Math anxiety is a cultural fact for the majority of the population, built upon a mentality of 'doing' math.  When that mentality is replaced by another, where 'understanding what you are doing' becomes central, learners begin to see themselves as keepers of their own keys.

2. Learning is more meaningful when we 'discover' the idea ourselves.  When learners have direct  personal experiences with an idea, they understand it in a way that is meaningful to them.  Rich investigations that allow direct contact with targeted ideas empower learners to construct personal understanding that endures.

3. Using natural language to describe the ideas we uncover keeps the learning real.  When we memorize rules and definitions, we are simply repeating someone else's understanding. When we describe our understandings with our own words, they become indelible.

But we don't just talk about these beliefs, we model them... in our writing, our Professional Development and our motivational sessions.

Products:   (25,000 books in print)
'I Get It!'... a guide for the mathematically undiscovered
Each volume in this series of 8 books (Levels K-7) unpacks the Big Ideas into smaller, more manageable essential understandings that support the NCTM Standards.  Inviting, make-sense language makes each idea easy to access, leaving the reader with a deeper, more intuitive understanding and a greater level of confidence.

'I Get It!'... for parents
Companion Blackline Masters to help parents become active participants in their child's math learning.

'I Get It!'... games to go
(under development;  level 2  available now)
This secondary series is a collection of thoughtful, conceptual games designed to support each concept in the teacher resource (above).  The games are unique in that they are designed to accommodate friendly (but specific) assessment.

'I Get It!'... numeral cards: laminated playing cards that support the resources
